Songs That Remind Me Of Certain Events

Have you ever had a nostalgic feeling when you listen to a song? It's as if you are reliving a memory from your past.

It is crazy (and not to mention, weird) how a simple song can remind you of all sorts of things. Whether it was about scoring your Add Maths test, getting your dream car or being asked out by a guy, there are just some songs which stick to your head, even after so many years.

I don't know about you but I do get this feeling. Certain songs remind of certain events that have happened in my life.

It's not like I tell myself "Oh, you should relate Graduation by Vitamin C with the class party you had last year because it is a perfect song to tell you that you and your friends are separating" - no. It just... naturally happens.

Sometimes the song doesn't even portray what you feel at that moment. Like, Bubbly by Colbie Caillat may remind you of the time when you got a bad grade for Maths, and I'm Yours by Jason Mraz may brings flashbacks of the fight you had with your best friend.

Weird huh?

So, I guess you want to know the list of songs that remind me of certain events ;)

1. My humps by the Black Eyed Peas

This reminds me of the time I stayed over at my cousin's place in Tawau, in 2006. Back then, this song was on every radio station and eventually, it got stuck in all of our heads.

So, we were dancing and singing to this song while we packed our bags for a trip to Pulau Sipadan the next day... and the whole thing led to my cousin, shaking every inch of what God gave him.

He is the one in the middle :D

He even danced (and way longer) to this song in Pulau Sipadan, in front of dozens of people, after we dared him to ;)

The whole dance of his made all of them laugh and he kind of became famous during the trip. People were waving and saying hello to him like he was some kind of datuk. -.-"

2. Hit Me Baby One More Time by Britney Spears

This track reminds me of one of the best childhood memories I have :)

It was Christmas Eve when my cousins and I decided to have a sleepover at my uncle's place in Silam. The drive which usually took about 30 minutes ended up being 3 hours!

The car broke down like every 10 minutes. -_-"

Among all the places that we stopped by, the classiest one had to be the cemetery.

I remember all of us being shit scared and literally hugging ourselves in the car. We were filled with thoughts of what we thought, could possibly happen then (pontianak chasing us around, toyol stealing our chipsmore).

Thinking of that experience now, after 9 years, has never failed to tickle my funny bone :)

This photo was taken shortly after we arrived at my uncle's place - I was so cute then. Haha

3. I Believe by Yolanda Adams

I remember that this was playing on repeat on the day my PMR results came out. My friends thought that I was extremely stressed out because I listened to this song for 6 hours straight.

I was very stressed out and this was the only song that made me feel calm and relaxed. So, I just had to play it on repeat.

However, the real reason why I remember this track is because it was playing when a friend texted me about my results. I will never forget that feeling of satisfaction, of happiness.

Fyi, ever since that day, this song has become one of my my pick-me-up songs :)

So yeah, these are the songs. There are more actually, but these are the only ones I could think of right now.

What songs remind you of certain events? :)

Late Night Procrastination

What does a person do to escape the piles of homework, the agonising sounds of her cousins talking crap and the thoughts of marrying Lucas Till?

She camwhores like there is no tomorrow.

Oh yeah Oh yeah

Mood Swings

I seriously hate lower back pain during my period.

I can't sleep properly and my mood swings become unpredictable. I hate it when that happens, it's like I don't know myself anymore.

Like this morning, I went mad because there were 3 strands of hair on my desk. THREE STRANDS. wtf

I also went nuts over the short blackout just now. I went berserk when I saw a leaf in the living room and I felt like choking someone when I heard my neighbour's dog barking like William Hung (gay gay gay).

And to top it all off,

I haven't even finished that post I promised.

Please don't give up on me :(

Adam Lambert

Even though he didn't win American Idol, I will forever be a fan of Adam Lambert. So what if he is gay? At least he is a hot gay. ;)

And he soo beats Kris Allen's version of No Boundaries. Muahaha Photobucket

Lalas Are Annoying

Lalas.

A general word that describes someone who is fcukin annoying. Seriously.

There are a few things you can see in lalas :

1. The never ending 'zzzzzzz' and 'xxxxxxx'

When they email you or send you something, they tend to outdo themselves when it comes to words. You'll see ten 'z' at the end of every word. Like that isn't annoying enough, they spell the words in a way that kills the English language. Take this sentence for instance ;

"How are you today?"

Seems normal eyh? Wait 'till it becomes lala-nized ;

"Hoew arez eiux 2daeyz worhxxxzzzx?"

Some of them even talk like this. It's like you have been sucked into a world where dumb-blondes are the new 'it' thing. Can you imagine talking to someone with that kind of language? Irritates the hell outta me. I mean, come on! Can't you just speak properly?

2. The way they dress

I know that everyone has their own rights in dressing themselves up but when fashion becomes a little bit too much, it turns into annoyance. Yes or no?

Lalas always wear too much make up, hence, proving themselves worthy in entering the circus and becoming the next "bozo the clown".

We all know the phrase, "less is more", right? Well, lalas go for "more is less". They always over-accessorise. They wear A LOT of jewellery. I know things like this show your status or whatever but don't you think that too much of a good thing isn't always so sweet? In fact, it makes a person look like a show-off (and we all know show-off is just a polite term for btich). But as for a lala, well, the more the merrier.

3. The way their photos look like on social sites

Lalas have their trademark when it comes to taking photos - 'the so close, zoom in' type of photos. Their cameras are practically kissing their faces man. And they just look fake.

Let me give you an example for this ;

Lala trademark no. 1 - The forceful looking smile.

The mother of all lala trademarks has to be this. I don't understand why they smile like that. I am sure they have beautiful smiles, but why smile so... tightly? It's like they are hiding something in their mouth. Ada emas ka di dalam tu.  -__-"

Lala trademark no. 2 - The peace sign.

They sport the peace in almost every photo. And they do it in that way *points above* . I like peace signs, really. But when a person uses it excessively, it becomes boring, and not to mention, annoying.

Lala trademark no. 3 - The big eyes.

I like big eyes. I adore big eyes. But big eyes like those in the photo just look.... BIG. They don't look natural and they can like pop out any minute. They also remind me of fishes (not a good thing).

Another thing I notice about lala photos is that they take photos of similar poses and upload ALL OF THEM on social sites. (If you don't believe me, go dig in Friendster)

Look at this photo. This is a great example of a lala photo overdose. Who likes going through a photo gallery containing shots that are similar?

(See photos number 2 and 3) Why would you upload photos that look the same? Can't you just upload one? Just because one pair of the eyes is big and the other pair is squinting, doesn't mean that you should upload both to show how "versatile" you can be.  -___-"

And notice what I mean with the 'so close, zoom in' type of photos?

I know lalas are good people but they can just be very annoying. Their trends are just........ annoying and that makes everything they do annoying. And everybody dislikes annoying people.

I hold no grudges against lalas. I just dislike their annoyance.

End.

* I am not a lala. The pictures are just examples, ok. -.-

* Count how many times I used the word "annoying" , heh.

Why Make Another Blog?

"You already have a blog, so why not just set that one on private, instead of creating a new one?"

I know, it looks stupid to create another blog when I can always set http://kaemania.blogspot.com on private. I find it kind of troublesome, to be honest.

But I want to have a blog where I can rant whatever I want without worrying what other people may say. And when I mean other people, I mean, my family members. The fact that they read my blog doesn't allow me to really open up.

Have you not notice that I rarely (or maybe never) curse in my blog?

That's 'cause my uncles and aunts, and also my dad read my blog. My family members aren't really open about kids my age (heh) cursing. I can't even use 'shit'.

But anyway, yeah. That is why I created this blog. I want the freedom to be able to say what I want to say, when I want to say.

You'll see the real Katrina, I guess?

;)
